Val Genova
The Val Genova is a valley of glacial origin, dotted with beautiful waterfalls, including those of Nardis, and landscapes that change at every turn. A part of Trentino close to us: the Val Genova is in fact a side valley of Val Rendena, very rich from a naturalistic point of view, which we recommend you visit, even with children, in summer.

The Waterfalls Path of Val Genova with arrival at the Nardis Waterfall
The Val Genova is entirely traversed by the Sarca river, one of whose sources originates in this beautiful valley. The river descends along the valley with spectacular waterfalls that can be found on the path in the woods, going down towards the valley or deviating from the asphalt road where the shuttles stop.
You start from Carisolo (home of the Geopark) to arrive at the Rifugio Bedole (1830 m), along a 17-kilometer route. With a short walk through the Waterfalls Path you can admire the Pedruc waterfall, the Casina Muta waterfall, the Folgorida waterfall, Lares waterfall, Casol waterfall until you reach the majestic Nardis waterfall.
A spectacular drop of water of over 130 meters that will remain etched in your memory. Don't miss it!
In the nineteenth century, this valley was called "the Versailles of Italy" due to its wealth of waterfalls and watercourses. The waterfalls originate from the Nardìs stream, which in turn is born from the snows of Presanella (3558 m).
Walking the paths in Val di Genova
The Sarca river is flanked by a path that can be covered on foot for the entire length of the valley. However, we must not take for granted that it is only downhill: the path follows the orography of the mountain and also has a few short uphill stretches despite descending into the valley. The excursion is simple and varied, immersed in absolute green and accompanied by the relaxing rustle of water. In the lower part, you can find wide meadows where you can stop for a picnic or simply relax.
From Malga Bedole, paths start that climb up the famous Adamello glacier. Demanding excursions for which you must be adequately equipped.
Route characteristics:
Easy itinerary suitable for everyone because it is very varied. A beautiful valley that is truly worth visiting. Dotted with waterfalls that are all very beautiful and different from each other and immersed in a fantastic pine forest. The valley can also be covered entirely on foot or in short stretches by choosing individual points of interest and covering the stretches you do not want to walk with internal shuttles.
Start and end of the route:
The valley extends for 17 km starting from the village of Carisolo and arrives up to the Rifugio Bedole. For the first stretch and up to Ponte Maria, it can also be covered by car; the Natural Park shuttles cover most of the valley, from Ponte Verde to Piana di Bedole.
It is advisable to go up to the terminus, to start the descent on foot from there or again by shuttle.

- Duration of the route on foot 5/6 hours.
- The elevation gain is significant but can also be covered in stretches by shuttle routes, thus reducing the hours on foot.
Means of transport:
Natural Park shuttle that comes down only once a day from Madonna di Campiglio in the morning or by your own vehicle.
Necessary equipment:
Even if you decide to do short stretches on foot and then use the internal shuttles, it is always better to be equipped "for the mountains" with trekking boots, possibly high on the ankle, adequate "layered" clothing for any cold drafts, rain cape, sun hat, trekking poles.
A water bottle and a bit of chocolate are useful to quench your thirst and regenerate energy!
Refreshment points and refuges:
Along the valley, there are several alpine refuges. Starting from the top: Rifugio Bedole, Rifugio Stella Alpina, Rifugio Fontana Bona, Chalet da Gino, Rifugio Cascate Nardis.
