4 tips for snowboarding in Madonna di Campiglio
Jumps, spins and freestyle descents: snowboarding means fun!
The “younger brother” of alpine skiing is all the rage and attracts thousands of enthusiasts to Madonna di Campiglio, searching for thrills in the presence of the Trentino Dolomites. In this post, we take you to discover the snowparks and all the services for those who want to hit the slopes on a snowboard.
First of all, let's see which areas are best equipped for fans of the “snowboard”.
The Snowparks of Madonna di Campiglio and Pinzolo: Ursus Snowpark and Brentapark on Doss del Sabion
Speeding down the slopes is certainly an adrenaline rush, but being able to perform tricks and jumps on specific routes is even more so. That is why, to meet the growing demands of snowboarders, two Snowparks have been created in Madonna di Campiglio and its surroundings: the famous Ursus Snowpark in Campiglio and the Brentapark in Pinzolo.
The first is located in the Grostè area and, with its 50,000 m², is considered one of the best snowboarding parks in the entire Alpine region. The 40 structures wind from the Rifugio Stoppani, at an altitude of 2,500 meters, down to the lower part which includes a series of areas dedicated to jumps up to more complex structures for experts. The Ursus Snowpark is served by the Grostè gondola and the Grostè Express chairlift. The Ursus Snowpark opens in the morning until the early afternoon (9.30-15.30).
In the Pradalago area we find the Ursus Mini Park, the snowpark dedicated to the little ones!
An area completely tailored for children, designed for those taking their first steps on the snow, schools and beginners. Those who already handle themselves like a skilled snowboarder can tackle banked turns, boxes in sequence and snow tunnels. To reach the Mini Park, take the Zeledria chairlift; the park is located at the top station.
For those staying in Pinzolo, the closest solution is the Brentapark, near the Grual slope. In this case too, the park is fully equipped for both experts and beginners, with structures for jumps, rails and funboxes. The opening hours of the Brentapark are from 10.30 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon.
As with alpine skiing, there are many schools and courses you can participate in to learn the art of snowboarding.

Being an established ski resort, in Madonna di Campiglio you can count on an offer that exceeds 500 qualified ski instructors, completely at your disposal. Among the many schools, there is the Scuola Italiana di Snowboard Professional, entirely dedicated to this discipline, and Zebra, with which guests of the Hotel Alpina enjoy special treatment, discounts and specific benefits.
Where to rent snowboards and equipment
If you want to learn how to snowboard without making an immediate purchase or want to try the latest generation of boards, we recommend opting for equipment rental. At the beginning, an entry-level snowboard will be enough, then once you understand your riding style, you can choose between freestyle, freeride or even a hard board, like real champions.
Are you at the very beginning and have no idea what you need for snowboarding? Here are some tips on how to dress.
How to dress for snowboarding?
Make sure to get comfortable, layered clothing. The essentials are: sweater, vest, pants, jacket, gloves, goggles, warm socks, beanie or helmet and a wool or fleece scarf. Since you will be jumping a lot, remember the famous “onion” clothing (layers to take off and add depending on body temperature).
Great, you have everything! Or maybe not… it might be time to take a look at the offers for the ski holiday on the snow of Trentino.
At the Hotel Alpina in Madonna di Campiglio, of course!
