A trip to Lago Nambino, a simple route accessible to everyone thanks to the different possible access routes to the last of the 5 Lakes and its mountain hut.

How to get to Lago Nambino

You can arrive on foot from the Rifugio Patascoss, after having reached the parking lot in front of the access to the path with your own car or with the shuttle bus, or tackle the walk completely on foot.
If you choose the latter, starting from the hotel you walk along the right orographic bank of the Sarca river up to the Piana di Nambino.
The path that climbs towards the lake is taken by first following a dirt forest road that leads to the cableway used by the managers of the mountain hut to transport food and the luggage of guests staying at the lake. Cross a beautiful pine forest of larches and firs that runs alongside the course of the Sarca river, where the sound and sight of the water will keep you company.

We are almost there! Lago and Rifugio Nambino await you

Having reached the cableway area, the path is comfortable and the only real climb is steep but short, about 20 minutes; it develops among stones and roots until reaching the top where the stretch of water of the lake appears in front of you, surrounded by large meadows to stop in complete freedom.
The second route begins opposite the Patascoss Parking. A very comfortable and flat path that winds through the trees and without any significant difference in altitude, which allows you to reach the destination in about 45 minutes.

Route characteristics:

An easy itinerary suitable for everyone and without particular differences in altitude. It is the most convenient alpine lake to reach both on foot and by approaching with the shuttle bus or your own vehicle, and it is the last lake of the 5 lakes tour.

Start and end of the route:

The first itinerary described is the one planned for the walk completely on foot starting from our Hotel. In terms of time, it is the longest route but feasible in half a day.
The second itinerary starts from the Patascoss Parking, which can be reached with the Natural Park Shuttles or with your own car.

Technical data:

Necessary equipment:

Even if the route is short, it is always better to be equipped "for the mountains" with hiking boots, possibly high on the ankle, adequate "layered" clothing for any cold drafts, rain cape, sun hat, trekking poles.
A water bottle and a bit of chocolate are useful to quench your thirst and restore energy!
