Mountain bike itineraries in the Brenta Dolomites
The bicycle, and in particular the mountain bike, is certainly one of the best ways to explore the surroundings of Madonna di Campiglio: up and up, as far as Val di Sole, and down and down, all the way to Lake Garda. Val Rendena is crossed by many cycle paths that allow you to move around in complete safety, avoiding traffic and the dangers of crowded roads. There are itineraries of various types, suitable for every physical condition: those for families, with long flat stretches and gentle ups and downs, and those for athletes, to be done with the right protections and the appropriate equipment.
Where to find bikes and e-bikes for rent
To make the experience in the saddle even more enjoyable, there is also the possibility of renting an eBike, power-assisted bicycles that allow you to significantly reduce fatigue. In the area of Madonna di Campiglio there are many rental points where you can rent these vehicles for a few hours or even for a whole day. We have entered into an agreement for you with Olimpionico Sport which guarantees special rental conditions on bikes and e-bikes with top-of-the-range models.
One of the points of reference for guided tours is the Scuola Sci Nazionale Des Alpes. In summer, the school offers mountain bike excursions to discover some of the most fascinating places in Val Rendena and western Trentino. The proposals range from bike parks dedicated to downhill, up to Enduro tours or Easy trails that wind throughout the bike land. There is even the possibility of using the ski lifts and bike buses to complete the tours.
Below we list six of their proposals.
Doss Sabion South-West Tour
The route is a loop, starting and ending in Caderzone. Along the way you will cross Pinzolo, Vallastone, Passo Bregn de l’Ors, malga Movlina and Massimeno. The total length is 38 kilometers, with a vertical drop of 1,150 meters for a travel time of 4-5 hours.
Val Brenta Tour
This tour starts and arrives in Madonna di Campiglio. Along its 21 kilometers you will encounter malga Fratè, the Brentei cableway and the village of S. Antonio di Mavignola. The elevation gain is more limited than the previous one, equal to 575 meters. To complete the route takes about 3 hours.
Val D’agola Tour
Also in this case it is not necessary to take the car, because the tour is a loop and starts from Madonna di Campiglio. The stages are at the Vallesinella mountain hut, malga Fratè, malga Brenta Bassa, lake Valagola and the Val Brenta forest nursery. It takes about 2-3 hours to travel the total 27 kilometers and overcome the 800 meters of elevation gain.
Campiglio – Brenta Bassa – Ritorto – Campiglio
Shorter is the route that starts from Madonna di Campiglio and touches malga Brenta Bassa and lake Ritorto. In this case, the kilometers to pedal are in fact only 15, to be covered in just over an hour and a half. You climb up and down for nearly 700 meters of elevation gain.
Campiglio – Lake Valagola – Campiglio
The route that leads to lake Valagola also starts from the pearl of the Dolomites. This graceful alpine lake lies at the bottom of the valley enclosed between the foothills of Cima Tosa and Doss del Sabion. To reach it, it takes 35 kilometers and 4 hours of mountain biking.
Campiglio – Riva del Garda
If you want to explore Garda and the magnificent center of Riva, expect a ride of about 4 and a half hours, for a total length of 79 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1,145 meters. The effort will be rewarded by the beauty of the Mediterranean nature that will welcome you on the shores of the lake.
Not to be missed…Dolomiti Brenta Bike!
To this list we then add the Dolomiti di Brenta Bike, a loop tour to be completed in stages and over several days. Two levels of difficulty: “expert”, for a total length of 171 kilometers and 7,700 meters of elevation gain; “country”, with 134 kilometers and 4,800 meters of elevation gain. To both you can then add the “explorer tours”, for a holiday for true explorers!
