Excursion to Lago delle Malghette

Friday, 20 February 2026

Have you ever been to Lago delle Malghette? No? Then you must immediately remedy this because this excursion starting from Madonna di Campiglio is truly within everyone's reach.

Adults and children can pick mushrooms and taste wild blueberries without much effort, enjoying nature to the 100%.

Lago delle Malghette, here we come!

You start on foot from the center of Madonna di Campiglio, from the Pradalago cable car, to then descend towards a beautiful alpine lake nestled in a valley rich in fir woods: Lago delle Malghette.

At the end of a glacial valley that originates from Cima Zeledria, Lago Malghette is downstream from a series of lakes known as "Tre Laghi", "Lago Scuro", and "Lago Alto".

Do you know why we recommend it? Because the trail is on a constant and gentle downhill slope, suitable for anyone and not particularly strenuous. Perfect for an excursion with children.

Route characteristics:

The route, descending from the summit of Pradalago, enters the dense forest. If you are lucky enough to travel through this area in the right season, you can find blueberries and porcini mushrooms in the undergrowth. Imagine the satisfaction! Along the way, it is possible to make a detour that leads to the aforementioned lakes (Tre Laghi, Lago Scuro, and Lago Alto), but at this point, the path becomes very demanding, suitable for more experienced and trained hikers.

Once you reach the lake, you can enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding mountains, and you can follow a trail that circumnavigates almost all of it. The trail to return to Madonna di Campiglio descends alongside the outlet stream to a plain where some ski lifts are located.

You continue the walk, always slightly downhill, until Campo Carlo Magno from where, in about twenty minutes, you reach Madonna di Campiglio.
