Dolomiti Natural Wellness: wellbeing meets nature

Tuesday, 09 June 2026

Try to imagine a wellness situation: what comes to mind? Surely most of you will have thought of a natural context – a wood, a waterfall, a meadow – an unspoiled place in which to rediscover the balance between body, mind, and environment.
Natural Wellness, that is to say that concept of wellbeing which is based on nature, is becoming an increasingly sought-after and studied practice.
Madonna di Campiglio and Val Rendena, coordinated by the Tourism Board, have decided to take this path with determination, creating the project “Dolomiti Natural Wellness”, a real natural wellness district that offers itineraries and activities to the many people who choose to spend their holidays here. Let's look at some of these proposals.

Yoga

Yoga is one of the most widespread meditative practices in the world. There are many variations, each based on different techniques. The most common in the West is Hatha yoga, which includes the physical practice of certain postures (or figures) called "asanas".
It can be practiced truly anywhere, but the possibility of doing it in the midst of unspoiled nature increases the benefits associated with this activity. For this reason, some packages dedicated to yoga and meditation have been included in the Dolomiti Natural Wellness project.

Tree hugging

Trees are the most prestigious witnesses to the history of our planet. Their trunks, with the many concentric sections that compose them, keep track of everything that happens on Earth; their roots, sinking into the ground for tens of meters, possess a very close link with the surrounding environment. Trees are a powerful tool that we human beings can use to reconnect with what is most primordial and atavistic.
For this reason, for many years, silvotherapy, or "tree hugging", has been a widespread and integrated practice in many wellness pathways. In Madonna di Campiglio, there is the opportunity to practice it in combination with moments of meditation.

Barefooting

Our feet are rich in receptors and nerve endings. They are a very important organ, which we often neglect or in any case force inside tight and often uncomfortable shoes for most of the day.
"Barefooting", that is to say walking barefoot, allows us to restore freedom to our feet, re-tuning ourselves with the surrounding environment without intermediaries. Of course, it is a practice to be done on suitable routes and under the guidance of an expert instructor. From a physical point of view, barefooting allows to improve posture and the use of joints.

Natural Kneipp

The Kneipp method, conceived by the German abbot of the same name, is based on water and hydrotherapy to restore wellbeing to our body.
In Madonna di Campiglio, Kneipp techniques combine with bioenergetic grounding exercises barefoot in the waters of mountain streams, to experience the vivifying energy of water and the hot-cold transition. The benefits are primarily for blood circulation and the immune system.
