Acqua Life and Geopark, the Visitor Centres of the Natural Park
Experiencing the pristine nature of the Adamello Brenta Natural Park means exploring it on foot or by bike, enjoying all the surprises, stopping to observe a flower or the lively flow of a watercourse. And if we want to know a bit more or if it is simply raining outside, here we have the opportunity to delve into specific aspects of the environment in the Visitor Centres of the Park.
The Visitor Centres of the Park offer an exploration of nature, from faunal aspects to flora, waters, and rocks.
Here we take you on an exploration of the two realities closest to Madonna di Campiglio: the "Acqua Life" Visitor Centre of the Park in Spiazzo and the "Geopark" in Carisolo. The others are distributed in other locations of Val Rendena, Val di Non, Comano, and Valli del Bleggio.
What do you do in the Visitor Centres of the Park?
The Visitor Centres of the Park were born as organized containers of findings, photographs, panels, films, and reconstructions relating to the various aspects of the Adamello Brenta Natural Park and its naturalistic aspects. The itineraries are designed to bring adults and children closer to the varied world of nature through interactive games and multimedia activities. In short, you "study" without realizing it.
Acqua Life Visitor Centre, in the kingdom of water
To learn about the fish fauna native to the Natural Park, we stop in Spiazzo Rendena at Acqua Life. The "Acqua Life" Visitor Centre of the Park is located near the Sarca River, an important watercourse of the Natural Park, and consists of green building structures and some outdoor small lakes, completely dedicated to introducing us to trout, frogs, and other animals of the Adamello Brenta Natural Park.
The internal itinerary, consisting of touch screens and other installations, informs us about what we will have the opportunity to observe in the external aquatic environments: the spring, the pond, the marsh, the stream, and the lake. Thanks to the underground observatory, we can delve into the reproduction cycle of trout and get closer to the life of other fish species.
Geopark Visitor Centre of the Park
We now move to the Geopark Visitor Centre in Carisolo, at the beginning of Val Genova. Why an environment dedicated to rocks? Because the Adamello Brenta Natural Park consists of the Adamello-Presanella group and the Dolomiti di Brenta: two massifs extremely different from each other, which have given the protected area a variety of rocks and environments unique in its kind.
What has been set up at the Geopark is a real multimedia itinerary that alternates videos and aerial shots on giant screens with interactive experiments, to bring Earth Sciences enthusiasts closer to the world of rocks and biodiversity.
Thus you enter the karst cave, examine the rocks under a microscope, and virtually fly over the woods of the park, between peaks and clearings.
A beautiful experience to better understand the richness of the natural environment and thus learn to love and respect it. Even on holiday!
Why did we recommend the Visitor Centres of the Park?
For many reasons: first of all, to introduce the Natural Park to your children, to allow you to spend a stimulating day together, especially if it rains outside.
But there is another reason... Hotel Alpina loves nature: we are certified with the environmental quality marks Qualità Parco and Eco World Hotel. We are mindful of waste, we source from nearby and certified companies, we try to promote respect for the environment with every small gesture.
We hope this short tour of the Visitor Centres of the Park has piqued your curiosity!
